    THIS IS A SPECIMEN OF
    BARYTE NODULES IN MATRIX WITH TWO AND 1/2 ERODED NODULES INCLUDED.
    THE SPECIMEN IS
    APPROXIMATELY 8 X 6 X 5 cm
    .
    THE THREE NODULES ARE ABOUT 3 TO 4 cm IN DIAMETER
    AND THE
    TOTAL WEIGHT IS 391.4 gm..
    IT IS FROM
    THE
    REDHOUSE MINE,  POTOSI DISTRICT, OSGOOD RANGE, HUMBOLDT CO., NEVADA.
    THE SPECIMEN WAS COLLECTED IN 1984.  NODULES ERODED OUT OF THE DEPOSIT AT THE NORTH END.  THE IN SITU NODULES WERE COLLECTED SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET SOUTH OF THE ERODED NODULES. THE DEPOSIT WAS MINED DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY AND USED MAINLY FOR DRILLING MUD WHICH IS USED IN THE OIL FIELDS.  IT IS A SEDIMENTARY DEPOSIT.  THE BARYTE NODULES HAVE A RADIAL STRUCTURE.  SEE PICTURES.  I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING WHEN POSSIBLE.  THANKS FOR LOOKING.
