VINTAGE SIGNED INUK INUIT STONE SCULPTURE CARVED ESKIMO ART RARE 1965 LOT. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.

Many of these have been signed in Inuktiut.
All have no major damage, just wear commensurate with age, except TWO - the large single figure which has a repair on the lower bottom leg area and across the bottom base (primarily a 3" crack seen on base and 2" crack seen on back tween leg area). The char fish lost two tail fin tips each 3/16" wide.
From largest and heaviest to smallest:
1) MAN AND WOMAN INUIT HUNTERS WITH SEAL. Weighs 6.27 pounds. Measures12" diagonal, 7.5" tall, 9.25" wide. Bottom signed numbered E8994 LID. Comes with receipt from August 23, 1965 from the Snow Goose "Canadian / Indian and Eskimo Arts and Crafts" store at 46 Elgin Street Ottawa Ontario.  Listed as "1 Frobidra Bay Man and Seal" .00.
2) INUIT HUNTER WITH SEAL. Weighs 3.1 pounds. Measures 6.75" tall, 3.5" wide and 3.25" deep. The bottom is signed and numbered: 7587 Povungnituk Innukpak. This comes with a certificate of authenticity which indicates: La Societe Cooperative De Povungnetuk Provinec De Quebec Canada. Certificat with artists name "Charlie Sheguapik Innukpak 8/13/64 Pen B. Dinlam (-?-hard to read script). And article number 7587. This artists seems to have been born in 1941 and used the name "Charlie Inukpak" and is a known artist of recognition.
3) SEAL. Weighs 2.07 pounds. 5.5" diagonally, 5.25" across, 2.75" tall and 3.75 to 4" deep.
Native American Canadian Inuit Carved Port Harrison Seal by Daniel Aculiak (1944-present), signed in Inuktitut and with number, Artist is from Inukjuak a Village in Quebec, Canada.
pre-owned with normal wear for age, unless stated otherwise in description. Bottom says on the sticker the post (Port Harrison) the carver (Daniel Aculiak) and the number E9-1598 and 4505 and a sticker says Canadian Eskimo Art. (Carved black soapstone.) 2.07 pounds.
Daniel Aculiak is an established artist, whose creative work was primarily influenced by the 1960s. In the art sphere, a multitude of significant changes were also taking place. Minimalism was rejecting any form of emotional expression and focused on art’s theoretical aspect – aspiring to pure visual responses. Honesty and a void of emotions were key concepts in the highly influential movement of Minimalism- focused on producing artworks mainly gathering polished, clean lines and geometrical elements. This seal is also mentioned on the receipt referenced above from 1965 as "1 Port Harrison Seal" .50.
4) SEAL. Greenish tinged stone. Weighs 1.1 pound. Measures 5.25 long by 2.5" deep by 2.5" tall. This has some small carving or marks (perhaps a signature or number) on the bottom that cannot be made out. This Seal has a Canadian Ekimo Art paper indicating "George River" and is also referenced on the above referenced receipt from 1965 as "George River Seal" .50.
5) BOWING SITTING STANDING SEAL. Weighs .93 pounds. Measures 3.5" tall, 3.25" deep and 1.75" wide.
6) IGLOO. Weighs .53 pounds. Measures 2.75 x2.75" by 2" tall. Says DIMU carved on bottom.
7) DUCK. (forward looking). Weighs .31 pounds. Measures 4.5" long, 1 7/8" tall and 7/8" wide. Bottom has 2 sticker "Canadian Eskimo Art" and " Alulie P167 NNW" as an artists name and number.
8) SEAL. Weighs .28 pounds. Measures 4" long by 1.25 deep by 1" tall. On the bottom it is numbered 17.68H Artist SiAKA and Povungnituk.
9, 10, 11) BELCHER ISLAND OTTER, CHAR, (fish) DUCK, (color is very slightly greenish) Otter weighs 4.4oz, and measures 6x1.25x1.25", Char weighs 3.2 oz and measures 5x1.25x7/8" This has a small chip missing from each side of the tail fin each chip is 3/16" wide- I have the two chips if you want to try to glue or repair. The Duck (is looking back and) weighs 1.94 oz and measures under 2.5" long over 1.25" tall and over 1" wide. The duck has numbers etched into the bottom. All three are on the receipt from The Snow Goose Ottawa 1965..50, .00 and .75.
12) WALRUS. Weighs 3oz and measures over 2" long by under 2" tall by over 1" deep. This is associated with the certificate which states artist "Johnny Takatak Sanikiuaq 00070319.
13) DUCK. slim. Weighs 3.63 oz and measures just over 5" long, 2" tall and 3/4" deep. Associated with the certificate indicating "Matthewsie Sivuarapik and number IA-14550 and date "82".
In addition there is a certificate from Probisher Bay Carver Mathieussee which may be associated with the other carving. And a loose sticker "NS17 Eskimo Art".
